Anatolie Jacobson

I am a counsellor / therapist working with adults of all ages 18+. I am a Qualified Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work to the BACP’s standards of Good Practice and abide by their Code of Ethics.

Based in central St Albans, Hertfordshire, I use the psychodynamic and relational approaches to therapy.  This simply means that we will work together to help us make links between your current emotional difficulties or thoughts and your past experiences and relationships. These links will help in understanding yourself more and why you might feel the way that you do in the present. This ultimately enables changes or as I like to call them, shifts, that feel right, and make you feel better by becoming a preferred version of you.

My work is based on integrity and compassion i.e. all your feelings matter. I will actively listen in a warm and thoughtful manner, without judgement, with an aim to build a reliable and trustworthy relationship with you; this at the core of this journey, whether it be short (up to 20 sessions) or long-term therapy (20+ sessions).

Working together in this way and at the pace that feels right for you will help increase your self-awareness and self-acceptance. This ultimately enables you to (re)gain more control of your life and help you feel more confident within yourself.

Whether you’re certain you’d like to start therapy or wonder if I’m the right therapist for you, feel free to contact me in confidence to arrange an initial 30 minutes discussion by phone or video, at no cost.
